Madrid Gathering Promotes Dialogue and Diversity

A new gathering in Madrid brought together faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to reflect on the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, promoted by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, placed emphasis on intercultural coexistence, religious freedom and respect. The dialogue included a representative of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández of the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and human rights educator Denise González. Speakers offered reflections from faith, culture and public service on how education can reduce prejudice.

In the discussion, participants considered themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences.
